Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 21, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how PDF Reader: PDF Editor handles information when you use the Android application. It is written to support Google Play privacy policy and Data safety expectations and should be kept consistent with the app's Google Play listing.
1. App overview
PDF Reader: PDF Editor is a document utility for reading, importing, scanning, annotating, signing, filling, bookmarking, sharing, printing and exporting supported documents, including PDF and common Office document formats.
2. Information we process
The app is designed to work locally where possible. We do not require you to create an account, log in or submit profile information to use the core document features.
- Documents and files: files you choose to import, scan, view, edit, annotate, sign or export.
- Reading state: local bookmarks, current page, recent documents, display settings and language preference.
- Camera input: images captured by the camera when you use scanning or image-to-PDF features.
- Device and diagnostic information: limited technical information may be processed by Android system components, app stores or future SDKs to keep the app functional and secure.
3. Permissions
- Camera: used only when you choose to scan or capture a document.
- Files and document picker access: used when you choose files to import, open, preview, edit or export.
- Network access: used for connectivity-related app capabilities and may be used by future advertising or service integrations.
4. How information is used
Information is used to provide and improve app features, including:
- Opening and rendering documents.
- Saving bookmarks, page position, annotations, signatures and editing overlays.
- Creating or exporting PDF copies.
- Supporting print, share and file import workflows requested by you.
- Maintaining app stability, security and compatibility.
5. Storage and retention
Documents, bookmarks, annotations, signatures, exported files and preferences are stored on your device or in app-controlled storage unless you choose to share, print, export or open them with another app. You can remove local data by deleting documents inside the app where available, clearing app storage in Android settings or uninstalling the app.
6. Sharing and third parties
We do not sell your personal information. Documents are not intentionally shared with third parties unless you choose to use Android sharing, printing, export, file picker or another external workflow. Those external apps and services process information under their own terms and privacy policies.
7. Future AdMob advertising disclosure
If personalized advertising is enabled, ads may be selected based on information associated with your device, app activity or consent choices. You may be able to limit ad personalization through Android or Google ad settings, reset your advertising ID and manage consent where required by law. Before AdMob advertising is released, the app's Google Play Data safety information and this Privacy Policy should be updated to match the actual SDK behavior and regional consent requirements.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect app data. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
The app is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us so we can review the request.
10. International users
If future services, analytics or advertising SDKs process data outside your country or region, that processing may involve transfers to jurisdictions with different data protection rules. We will update this policy as necessary when such services are integrated.
11. Your choices
- You can deny optional permissions, such as camera access, although related features may not work.
- You can delete local documents and exported files from your device.
- You can clear app data or uninstall the app to remove locally stored preferences and app-controlled data.
- You can use Android and Google settings to manage advertising ID and ad personalization choices when ads are introduced.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when app features, SDKs, legal requirements or Google Play disclosure requirements change. The updated version will show a new "Last updated" date.
13. Contact
